Saray Capital (DIFC) Annual Event 2020

Saray Capital (DIFC) Ltd (‘Saray Capital’) held its Annual Event at the Waldorf Astoria DIFC hotel in Dubai on 6th February 2020.

After a welcome address by the Directors of Saray Capital, Majed Hashim and Hussam Shobokshi, Prof. Elliot Ludvig from the Psychology Department of Warwick University shared his insights on some of the many biases that can influence investment decision making. He was joined by Mr Sultan Al-Turki, CEO of Al Nahla Trading & Contracting Co. for an interactive discussion on real life examples of the impact of biases on investment decisions.

Mr Hussein Abaza, CEO of Commercial International Bank and Dr Ziad Bahaa Eldin, non-Executive Chairman of the Bank of Alexandria discussed investment opportunities in the MENA banking sector, with specific focus on Egypt where there are some real success stories in spite of challenging regional economic and geopolitical circumstances.

Finally, Ian Whittock, Chief Investment Officer of Knight Frank Investment Management, spoke about the effects of e-commerce on global commercial real estate.

All discussions were moderated by Saray Capital senior executives, and audience participation was encouraged in Q&A opportunities. The audience was composed of members of leading family businesses, representatives of regional and international family offices, as well as executives of global financial institutions.
