Currently retaining a role as an independent member of the Investment Committee at KFIM, Ian joined the firm in 2012 with Kevin Aitchison. During his tenure KFIM’s AUM grew from £400m to £4bn.)  After he retired in 2019 Ian acted as a consultant to the business until November 2022.

Ian has worked in property since 1983, joining Baring Houston and Saunders in 1987 which became ING Real Estate Investment Management in 1995. Ian was appointed head of UK property investment analysis and strategy, was a Trustee on the firm’s pension fund and became a Managing Director of the London office. In 2004 Ian was asked to head up European investment research and strategy. He held this post until appointed CIO of the UK in 2008.

Ian holds a BSc. (Estate Management), ACIArb, FRICS, and was until retirement FCA regulated.
